Not everyone has the time to spend an hour a day, several days a week working out. In today’s world most people have demanding jobs, families and little time for much of anything else. However, taking care of yourself should be among your top priorities. If you get sick there won’t be anyone to perform your stressful job duties or to care for the children and spouse quite the same way you do.
Everyone needs to make time for themselves in order to maintain their sanity. When it comes to maintaining the body there a several easy ways you can burn off some of those calories you took in.
Walking is one of the favorites. Everyone walks whether it is to their car, office, cafĂ© across the street from work to grab a bite to eat or pushing the grocery cart through the store. Walking is the one exercise that can be worked in to everyone’s busy schedule! Instead of strolling try walking fast while that may not work so well at a crowed grocery store you can get away with a power walk to and from the parking garage, to and from the parking spot you found as far away as you could get in to the grocery store and of course taking the stairs will add just the right boost to give you that extra burst to burn off the extra few calories.
If you’re a stay at home mom or dad housework also burns off calories you wouldn’t think pushing a vacuum cleaner back and forth would do much for you but take a look at the muscles you use. Your arms, leg, stomach and back muscles are all part of the vacuuming movement. Taking 15 minutes to scrub the bathroom down will burn off those calories as well.
Do you enjoy gardening? If so, you have found an enjoyable way to burn off some calories. Pulling those weeds, carrying potting soil, water jugs and other items to the garden will burn off some calories. Need to rake or do some digging? That’s where you’ll burn the most but regardless of what you do when gardening you will burn some calories off.
New moms, want to burn a few extra calories? Take the baby for a walk in the stroller. You both get some vitamin D and fresh air and just walking 20 minutes around your neighborhood could burn off 100 calories. Taking a trip to the shopping mall can also burn off the calories push the stroller and walk a little faster.
Does the car need a good washing and waxing? Do it by hand! Save you money and burn off some calories while you do it. The car will look better and you will feel better.
There are so many everyday tasks that we do that burn calories most of them we don’t even realize how often we do them as they are just a part of our life if we take notice and put just a little more energy in to them we could easily burn 300 or more calories a day doing the simple things we already do!
