If it’s one thing the weight loss world is not lacking its tips on how to lose weight. Try one tip or try them all, but I highly recommend that you start with these 50!

Your mindset about losing weight is always your starting point. You may want to lose weight but do you want to do the work that is required to succeed? If you can answer yes to that question without a doubt, then you’ve already won half the weight loss battle.

1. Set your goal – In order to achieve success you must set reasonable goals if you want to lose a total of 50 pounds then break it down in to 10 pound increments. With each ten pounds you lose you have achieved your goal.

2. Get a plan – Start slow develop a simple plan that fits your needs and lifestyle and current abilities. If you know you cannot exercise for an hour six days a week then don’t even try.

3. Motivation – Everyone needs a little more motivation than I don’t want to be fat anymore. Ideally if you an event coming up that you want to look fabulous for then you have motivation. If you do not have upcoming events then get one! It’s a simple as planning a weekend away where you will need to show a little skin.

4. Get a buddy – Weight loss is always easier if you have a buddy doing it with you can support and push each other towards success.

5. Write it down – If you can see it it’s easier to follow. Write everything down from your shopping list to your meals and exercises that you plan to do.

6. Keep a daily journal – Not for your progress but to release your emotions and thoughts about your diet you will find this most helpful when you have had an off day.

7. Talk about your plan – Hearing your plan as you talk to family or friends makes it more real.

8. Not a diet – Don’t think of your weight loss plan as a diet but as a new way of eating.

9. Exercise – That can be a nasty word for some people so change it to something more pleasant such as daily activity anything that doesn’t indicate you have to exercise!

10. Reward day – Set small rewards for yourself when you accomplish a goal, not of the food kind.

11. Plan your meals – Knowing what you’re having for your three meals eliminates the need to just grab a quick fattening bit to eat!

12. Portions – Portion out your meals to prevent over eating.

13. Color – Adding color to your diet is proven to make your food more appealing.

14. Plan for the future – Knowing that you will be losing weight buy yourself an outfit that is stunning and hang it in a place you will see it every day.

15. Treat day – Have a day each week that you can look forward to having a special treat a small portion of one of your favorite foods. This prevents binging.

16. Support – Finding a support group online or in person can help you tremendously.

17. Before and after pictures – Be sure to take before and after pictures and in-between pictures. Seeing is believing.

18. Weigh yourself – Weigh yourself once a week in the morning enjoy your lost pound or two.

19. Develop a routine – A routine helps you stick to your plan it becomes just another part of your day after a week or so.

20. Don’t be too hard on yourself – You will slip once in a while accept and get back on track!

21. Avoid fast food – Instead of using the drive thru try the drive by!

22. Sleep – Getting enough rest is as important as any other part of your plan.

23. Your happy medium – Everyone has a happy medium when trying to lose weight finding yours will make it a more enjoyable experience.

24. Activity – Find a physical activity you always wanted to try like salsa dancing.

25. Be yourself – This one may cause a little confusion so I’ll explain. No two people are alike don’t even try to keep up with someone else weight loss is not a competition it is a lifestyle change. You reach the finish line when you reach it the most important and obvious thing it to reach it!
